Star Trek, the quintessential tale of space exploration and adventure, created by Gene Roddenberry, has been re-imagined for a whole new generation. Since it originally aired in 1966, Roddenberry’s stories not only changed the realm of science fiction but they have also inspired viewers from around the world to believe in a united future for all humankind. From colloquial expressions like “Beam Me Up” to extrapolated technological advancements, Star Trek’s influence has permeated almost every aspect of society. Now with the release of its eleventh movie, Star Trek promises to bring yet another generation into its fold and boldly go where no one has gone before.
On Saturday May 9th, 2009 please join Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry for a special showing of Star Trek XI in Catalina Island’s Historic Avalon Movie Theater. The evening will be a night to remember as fans and admirers from all generations gather under one roof to welcome the rebirth of Star Trek’s legacy.
Gene’s only son, Rod starts out this stellar evening by sharing how his father and the world of Star Trek has not only touched, but changed his life.
