Patrick Stewart's Macbeth, a play that's gettiing fantastic reviews, is coming to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in February 2008.
The two 80-minute acts that make up the show "pound the senses and seize the imagination in ways that make the ancient tale of unbridled hubris vitally modern," according to a Reuters report.
Rupert Goold directed the production, currently at London's Gielgud Theatre where it will close on the first of December. Goold also directed Stewart as Prospero in The Tempest last spring.
What's On Stage reported that 50-year Shakespearean actor has won the award for Best Performance in a Play at the 2007 TMA Awards, which celebrate regional theatre. At a ceremony held at London's Hampstead Theatre, Stewart was honoured for the Chichester production of Macbeth.
